Château Lieujean
Cru Bourgeois
Haut-Médoc
Château Lieujean has been producing a stylish and lively Haut Medoc with aroma and intense bouquet.
Gravel beds, clay and sandy soils give a very classical Medoc touch to these grape varieties.
The wines have a tannic structure which is characteristic of the great Medoc wines, while keeping a very fruity flavour with a light hint of wood.
A fairly new winery enables to take advantage of a diversified terroir.

Very delicate and fruited nose. A note of venison and spices is coming out from shaking. Ample attack, good volume in the mouth. The evolution is slow. The tannic framework is of a good maturity. We rediscover ripe fruits and spices notes in the mouth. Full bloomed finish that is characterized by its delicacy and gustatory balance.

Château Lieujean 1999 - WINE & HEALTH |

Superb dark garnet red robe with brown reflects. The bouquet is powerful with fruits (blackcurrant, blackberry and raspberry) and develops with aeration floral notes such as jasmin and lilas and spices such as fenel and coriander. The tannins cover the palate and its thick flesh releases aromas of fruits, gray pepper, coffee and patinated wood.
Admirable long and velvety finish. A nice success to drink with a beef stew and carrots.

One of the group of estates owned by Jean-Michel LAPALU (the others include Liversan), this is a relatively soft wine, but one with good ripe fruits. This means that it is ready to drink now, an easy wine, with pleasant stalky tannins.
